“Obviously, we're in a tough position,” Cole had said prior to the 11-4 victory at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night, “but there's a lot of baseball left to be played and anything can happen. https://virtual-centre.net/hera-syndulla-linking-the-bad-batch-and-star-wars-rebels/ We're excited to get back out there. Hey, we're still in the World Series. Hey, we're in the Bronx. We've still got a shot at this thing.”
The Dodgers remained in striking distance for much of Tuesday’s game, but the Yankees’ pitching staff kept them at arm’s length until New York’s offense exploded for five runs in the eighth inning, putting the kibosh on any potential late drama. The good vibes — and a modicum of confidence — had been restored at the Stadium, and the players could feel it.
But as we saw in Game 1, the Dodgers don’t die easily. Catcher Will Smith smacked a leadoff homer off Gil in the fifth, then Tommy Edman drew a walk. The Yankees went to their ‘pen, with ground-ball lefty Tim Hill summoned. The Dodgers put runners on the corners with one out and Freeman up to bat. Hill got the ground ball he wanted, but second baseman Torres’ toss to Volpe at the second-base bag to try to start a potential double play was a little high, and though Volpe’s subsequent throw to first was initially ruled to have beaten Freeman to the bag for the inning-ending DP, a replay review overturned it.
Who won the world series game last night
It was the first time the Yankees got a runner into scoring position and the first chance for the home team to get the crowd back into the game after Freddie Freeman’s two-run homer in the first took any home-field advantage away from New York.
10:23 p.m. — SAC FLY STANTON! Chisholm advances Soto with a force out to Lux. Judge is out at second with Stanton on tap and Chisholm at first, two outs on the board. The Yankees take the lead on a Stanton popout, allowing Soto to score and Chisholm to get to second before Lux can get there.
Walker Buehler had his best start of the year, Freddie Freeman homered for the third game in a row, and Shohei Ohtani played through a visibly sore shoulder as the Dodgers beat the New York Yankees 4-2 in Game 3 at Yankee Stadium. The Dodgers have yet to lose in this series and could win the franchise’s eighth championship as early as Tuesday.
9:50 p.m. — TEOSCAR TIES IT! Over the last three at-bats, the Dodgers have gone from no runs to on the brink of a World Series title thanks to a double off the wall in front of Judge, allowing Betts and Freeman to round the bases. Muncy is up with one on and two outs.
8:38 p.m. — Volpe continues his momentum from last night's decisive grand slam, sending a double into left to get himself into scoring position. Wells is up next, and he grounds into Freeman, allowing Volpe to advance to third.
College world series game 3
With No. 2 starter Shane Sdao out with an injury he suffered in super regionals, the Aggies needed to get creative on the mound in Omaha. On Sunday, that meant starting righthander Zane Badmaev, who had thrown just one inning in the NCAA Tournament, as an opener for righthander Chris Cortez.
The Dodgers win 4-2, as the Yankees couldn’t get their offense going until they were down to their final out. Freddie Freeman hit a two-run homer in the first inning before Los Angeles added a couple insurance runs later in the game.
3. The person holding that number becomes the first person in line according to their number. After that, the person assigned number 1 will join the line, followed by the remaining people in the order of the numbers they are holding with the person having 4 becoming the last in line.)
The Gators forced a final game with a 24-4 drubbing of LSU. But the Tigers returned the favor in Game 3, dominating with a 14-run win to win the seventh national championship in program history. After falling behind 2-0 in the first, the Tigers scored six in the second to never look back.
